Bennett Hooper Brough's 1899 mine-surveying textbook, published in London by Charles Griffin & Co. for mining students and practising surveyors. The 87 line diagrams show dial compasses, graduated plotting scales, levelling rods and angle constructions, drawn in thin engraved outline with lettered reference points and "Fig." captions, useful as technical instrument silhouettes, grid overlays and measurement notation.
