Deutsches Gesellschaftsleben im endenden Mittelalter
A cultural history of German social life in the late Middle Ages, written by Gustav von Buchwald and published in Germany in 1885 for educated general and scholarly readers. The plates are wide horizontal ornament bands printed white on dark grounds, each a symmetrical Renaissance grotesque of acanthus scrolls, winged putti and sirens, masks, urns and rosettes inside a ruled frame, ready for use as headers, dividers or repeating border strips.
