A Victorian boys' novel by Edwin Harcourt Burrage, issued in London by S. W. Partridge & Co. in 1877 for a family and Sunday-school readership. The plates here are engraved chapter headpieces and tailpieces: symmetrical scrollwork cartouches framing urns, flower baskets, torches and columns, printed in fine grey line on cream, usable as dividers, frames and masthead ornament.
