The Robber Chief; or, Too good for his trade. [With plates
A Victorian adventure novel by Edward Burton, published in London by J. F. Shaw & Co. in 1883 for a general and juvenile readership, set among Highland clans and outlaws. Four captioned wood-engraved plates use heavy cross-hatching and full moons to light night scenes on moorland, a ship's deck and a vaulted hall, offering figures in kilts, a bolting horse and a body among sheep.
