Navigations de Alouys de Cademoste.-La Navigation du Capitaine Pierre Sintre ... escrite par Messer Alouys de Cademoste. [Translated by J. Temporal
A scholarly French reprint of Alvise Cadamosto's fifteenth-century accounts of West African and Atlantic voyages, in Jean Temporal's translation and edited by Charles Schefer, issued in 1895 for historians and geographers. The decoration is engraved outline ornament: a symmetrical headpiece of two winged putti reclining on acanthus scrolls beside a female mask under a shell, drawn in thin uniform line on blank paper and usable as a header, divider or frame element.
