A traveller's account of South Africa by John Kerr Campbell, published in London by Simpkin, Marshall & Co. in 1891 for British general readers. The wood-engraved cuts are small page ornaments: decorated initials framed in flowering stems, symmetrical leaf-and-blossom tailpieces, and oval seascape vignettes of sailing boats and steamers under banded clouds.
