A Declaration made by the Earl of New-castle ... for his resolution of Marching into Yorkshire. As also a just vindication of himself from that ... aspersion laid upon him, for entertaining some Popish recusants in his forces
A Victorian antiquarian reprint of William Cavendish, Earl of Newcastle's 1642 Civil War declaration, issued at Newcastle upon Tyne by the local printer and reprint publisher M. A. Richardson in 1843 for collectors of north-country historical tracts. The illustrations are decorative letterpress ornaments printed in red and black: blackletter and Gothic-revival initial capitals on stippled grounds, foliate corner sprigs, and a circular monogram device, usable as drop caps, colophon marks, or two-colour pattern motifs.
