Evelyn Manwaring. A tale of Hampton Court Palace
A Victorian novel by Greville John Chester, set at Hampton Court Palace and published in London in 1883 for general readers. The pictures are not scenes but small wood-engraved printer's ornaments — star-shaped and triangular blocks with white wild-rose blossoms and leaves reversed out of solid black, usable as chapter breaks, tailpieces, spot marks, and repeatable motifs.
