A county history of Gilpin, Clear Creek, Boulder and Jefferson counties, Colorado, compiled from chapters by W. B. Vickers, J. Burrell, A. Frost, A. Bixby and E. L. Berthoud and published in 1880 by O. L. Baskin & Co. for local subscribers and settlers. Most plates are lithographed bust portraits of bearded men in dark coats and bow ties, drawn in fine stipple against blank grounds, many with engraved signatures beneath, plus mining and townsite views useful for period faces, facsimile autographs and soft tonal shading.
