Sylvester Sound, the Somnambulist. (Illustrated by Onwhyn.) [With a portrait of the author
A comic novel by Henry Cockton, published in London by W. M. Clark in 1844 for a popular serial-reading audience, with 52 etched plates by Thomas Onwhyn. The oval-framed scenes show early-Victorian parlours, taverns and skeleton-hung surgeries, full of crinolines, tailcoats and startled gestures: useful for interior detail, period costume and staged figure groupings.
