Geschiedenis van België ... Versierd met 200 houtsneden, etc
A Dutch-language history of Belgium written by the Flemish novelist Hendrik Conscience and published at Antwerp by J.-E. Buschmann in 1845, illustrated with 200 wood engravings for a general Flemish readership. The cuts are loosely hatched vignettes without borders, showing armoured horsemen, packed crowds of pikemen in plumed hats and helmets, siege camps and cavalry charges with cannon, with figures set against blank paper skies that make them easy to cut out and place as headpieces or spot art.
