DAVIES, John David. · 1877 · H. W. Williams · 101 pictures

A parish-by-parish local history of West Gower in Glamorganshire, written by the clergyman John David Davies and issued in four parts from 1877 by H. W. Williams for Welsh antiquarians and parishioners. Line drawings record ruined castles, church exteriors and monuments in dense pen hatching, alongside outline heraldic shields with ermine spots, bars and wavy fesses that read cleanly as flat silhouettes or spot ornament.
