New Tables to facilitate the Practice of Great Circle Sailing; together with an application of the theory of the great circle on the globe to the sailing, and an appendix, containing some mathematical demonstrations, etc
A navigation manual of 1857 by Arnold H. Deichmann, published in London by Trübner & Co., setting out tables and mathematical proofs for great circle sailing for ships' officers and surveyors. The plates are fine-line engraved diagrams: spheres crossed by labelled great circles, poles and equators, and spherical triangles annotated with sine and cosine terms, useful as spare geometric line art, globe armatures and lettered construction drawings.
