A record of demolished quarters of Toulouse, drawn by F. Mazzoli with explanatory text by Baron Desazars, L. Saint-Charles and Eugène Lapierre, issued in 1885 for local antiquaries and municipal historians. The plates reproduce pencil and wash views in soft grey halftone: crumbling brick ramparts, arcaded courtyards, timber eaves, cobbled lanes and rubble heaps, with small figures for scale and broad blank skies useful as texture fields or backdrops for type.
