Sybil ... Illustrated by F. Pegram. With an introduction by H. D. Traill
An 1895 illustrated reissue of Benjamin Disraeli's 1845 political novel Sybil, with drawings by Fred Pegram and an introduction by H. D. Traill, published in London and New York for general readers. Forty pen-and-ink plates set top-hatted gentlemen and women in bonnets and full skirts against park benches, trees, doorways and panelled interiors, with italic caption lines useful for period figure studies and vignette framing.
