A seventh edition of William Hepworth Dixon's popular history of the Tower of London, issued in London by Bickers & Son in 1885 for the Victorian general reader. The plates here are small wood-engraved tailpieces and chapter ornaments: symmetrical foliate sprays, acanthus scrolls and drooping bellflowers in black line on cream paper, usable as dingbats, section breaks and corner decorations.
