Under False Colours ... New edition
A late-Victorian domestic novel for girls by Sarah Doudney, issued in a new edition by Blackie & Son in 1894 for the family and school-prize market. Six captioned sepia plates signed GGK show narrative scenes: bustled dresses and frock coats in curtained parlours with patterned rugs and framed prints, plus a village lane with cottages, useful for period costume, interior furnishing and two-figure staging.
