A German school geography textbook, part one, written by Adolf Dronke and published in 1886 for secondary pupils and their teachers. The figures are fine-line engraved diagrams set into the text page: celestial spheres crossed by great circles, elliptical orbits with radius vectors, arcs of falling bodies, and overlapping discs for eclipses, all lettered in italic capitals with "Fig." captions and useful as ready-made astronomical and geometric line art.
