Estella. A novel. By Elma
Estella, a three-part novel published anonymously under the pen name Elma in 1876 and held by the British Library, aimed at circulating-library readers. Its few illustrations are small chapter vignettes cut in wood: a rose, thistle, and shamrock twined around a stem, loose sprays of leaves, and a bird landing in foliage, usable as tailpieces and spot ornaments.
