At the Mercy of Tiberius
A late Victorian London reprint (Nisbet & Co., 1897) of Augusta Jane Evans Wilson's American courtroom melodrama, issued for the popular English fiction market. The illustrations are small printer's ornaments — symmetrical sprays of daisies, buttercups and fern fronds struck in black on cream paper, ink slightly blotted — useful as chapter tailpieces, dividers or stamped motifs at small sizes.
