Forschungen auf dem Gebiete der Rheinischen und Westphälischen Geschichte, etc
Anton Fahne's 1864 German-language studies in Rhenish and Westphalian history, a scholarly volume of archival and genealogical research printed for antiquarians and local historians. The illustrations are small woodcut coats of arms dropped into the text, drawn as plain heavy outlines with fields divided by bars, crosses and battlemented lines, giving designers a stock of simple heraldic shield silhouettes and geometric charges.
