Poems on several occasions
A collection of English verse by Elijah Fenton, printed in London in 1717 for readers of Augustan occasional poetry and translation. The plates are engraved printer's ornaments — symmetrical tailpieces and headbands built from acanthus scrolls, grotesque masks, urns of fruit and small winged cherubs — usable as spot devices, section breaks and borders where a compact, centred motif is needed.
