An 1845 London collected edition of Henry Fielding's novels, with a memoir by Thomas Roscoe, illustrated with etchings signed by George Cruikshank for Victorian readers of eighteenth-century fiction. The twenty-one plates are oval-framed vignettes of scuffles, bedside vigils, street crowds and parlour reunions, with coats, tricorn hats, sedan chairs and canopied beds drawn in fine hatched line that reproduces well small.
