Aquitaine: a traveller's tales. ... With illustrations by J. Pennell, etc
Wickham Flower's account of travel through south-west France, published in London by Chapman & Hall in 1897 with plates by the American etcher Joseph Pennell, aimed at armchair and touring readers. The pen drawings favour Gothic churches, riverside towns and market squares seen from a distance, with loose hatched foliage, open white skies and small figures useful as texture, skyline and line-weight studies.
