A Game at Chess; or, When Jew meets Greek. And In and Out of Zion. [Stories
A two-part volume of stories by J. Fogerty, issued in London by Diprose & Bateman in 1894 for the general Victorian fiction-reading public. The plates are line-engraved typographic ornaments rather than scenes: symmetrical headpieces and tailpieces built from scrolling foliage, rosettes, strapwork lozenges and small medallions holding a child's head, birds or five-pointed stars, usable as chapter dividers, borders and rules.
