The history of Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin
A subscription county history of Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, issued by the Western Historical Company in 1880 for local subscribers whose portraits paid for the plates. The 54 pictures are steel-engraved bust portraits of bearded businessmen in dark suits and bow ties, each set on blank paper above a facsimile signature and the town name, useful for stipple shading, engraved hair texture, and ready-made script.
