Beauties of English landscape. Drawn by Birket Foster. Engraved by Dalziel Brothers, J. Cooper ... and others
An 1874 London and New York gift album of English rural views, drawn by Birket Foster and cut on wood by the Dalziel Brothers, J. Cooper and other engravers for Victorian parlour readers. The 172 wood engravings are arch-topped and vignetted scenes of streams, woodland tracks and moonlit hills with small solitary figures, usable as tonal skies, tree silhouettes and soft-edged frames.
