A French regional history and literary miscellany of the Dauphiné, compiled by Hyacinthe Gariel and published in 1864 for local antiquarians and genealogists. The 148 wood-engraved cuts are heraldic shields set in running text, their tinctures rendered as hatching, dots and cross-hatch: eagles, lions, swans, trellises and chevrons usable as crisp black-and-white emblem stock.
