A two-volume French illustrated history of Antwerp edited by the city archivist Pierre Génard, published in Belgium in 1887 for educated local readers and antiquarians. Its wood engravings copy older prints and drawings: carved armorial shields with mantling and mottoes, wide river panoramas of the town, allegorical prints of treaty scenes, and courtyard views with gabled houses and a stone pillory.
