Gilbert; or True Love rewarded: an amatory rural poem. [By J. Templeman. Illustrated
A narrative rural love poem by James Templeman, published in London by Sherwood in 1809 for readers of sentimental verse, with seventeen wood-engraved vignettes. The cuts show barn, cottage-hearth and woodland scenes in dense cross-hatching, with small figures in Regency dress, cooking fires, hay, and moonlit or sunlit water glimpsed through overhanging trees.
