A Daughter of Our Time, and other stories
A collection of short stories by I. Gilchrist, published in London by J. & R. Maxwell in 1884 for general Victorian readers. The fifteen pictures are small printer's ornaments set into the text: a leafy lozenge initial-knot, a heraldic rose, and symmetrical headpieces with scrolling acanthus, urns of flowers and pendant drops, usable as rules, dividers and spot decoration.
