Geographisch-historisches Handbuch von Bayern
A geographical-historical handbook of Bavaria compiled by Wilhelm Götz of Munich and published in 1895 as a German-language reference work on the kingdom's towns, districts and terrain. The illustrations are small wood-engraved panoramas that view each town from a nearby slope or field, church towers and rooflines strung along the middle distance beneath ridged hills, with foreground trees, vine rows and hatched grass; useful for skyline silhouettes, engraved landscape texture and captioned vignette framing.
