The vicar of Wakefield. Nouvelle édition, avec une notice, un argument analytique et des notes par M. l'Abbé B. Colpin
An 1896 London reprint of Oliver Goldsmith's 1766 novel, illustrated with William Mulready's designs and fitted with a notice, analytical argument and notes by the Abbé B. Colpin for French students reading English. The plates are fine-line engravings of clustered domestic scenes — families crowded around a bedside, girls measured back to back, a shooting party scattering birds — with figures in mid-eighteenth-century coats, caps and full skirts, quotation captions set beneath, and open paper margins useful for cut-out figure groups and period costume reference.
