A three-volume Victorian novel of the Light Brigade by James Grant, published in London in 1875 for the commercial circulating-library readership. The sixteen images are chapter-opening initials cut in line, each letter set in scrolling acanthus and lily foliage with perched long-tailed birds and herons, usable as drop caps, monograms or repeatable border ornament.
