China: a history of the laws, manners, and customs of the people. ... Edited by W. G. Gregor. With ... illustrations
A two-volume Victorian account of Chinese law, manners and trades compiled by John Henry Gray, Archdeacon of Hong Kong, edited after his death by W. G. Gregor and published in London in 1878 for British general readers. The plates are outline drawings, captioned and printed sideways, showing workshops and daily scenes: potters, silk weavers at looms, men playing dominoes, a draw-well; useful for figure groups, tools, furniture and architectural framing in unshaded contour line.
