Chronique d'une ancienne ville royale, Dourdan, etc. [With a map
A local history of the royal town of Dourdan compiled by Joseph Guyot and published in France in 1869 for antiquarian and regional readers, issued with a map. The plates shown are repeated wood-engraved tailpieces: a symmetrical strapwork cartouche with a grotesque mask, acanthus scrolls, fruit swags and a pendant finial, drawn in fine line and cross-hatching — usable as chapter ornaments, headers, or cut-apart scroll and mask motifs.
