Kolonisatie van Europeanen te Suriname. Opheffing van het pauperisme, ontwikkeling van handel en industrie, met ongeveer 90 platen
A Dutch proposal for European settlement in Suriname, published in 1872 by A. Halberstadt and aimed at investors and officials concerned with poverty relief, trade and industry, illustrated with roughly ninety plates. The lithographs are paired two to a page, each a wide tonal view of thatched houses on stilts, palm and forest interiors, river banks with dugout canoes, and small groups of figures cooking or carrying loads, giving designers soft grey landscape vignettes and sharply drawn tree silhouettes.
