A gift album of forty-five steel engravings of Shakespeare's heroines, cut by Charles Heath after drawings by contemporary British artists and issued in London in 1836 for the drawing-room annual trade. Each plate sets a single woman, half or three-quarter length, in an octagonal vignette with softly stippled backgrounds of foliage, arches and curtains; useful for period costume, hair, jewellery and shaped frames.
