A topographical picture-book of the Kingdom of Hanover and Duchy of Brunswick, described by Otto von Heinemann and engraved after drawings by several artists, published in Germany in 1857 for middle-class readers buying regional views. The 169 steel engravings are small horizontal landscapes and building portraits in fine grey line — town panoramas across river valleys, avenues of trees, spa colonnades and country houses with strolling figures — useful for framed vignette borders, foliage silhouettes and distant skyline profiles.
