Illustrirte Weltgeschichte: ein Buch für's Volk ... Mit Tabellen und Karten

CORVIN-WIERSBITZKI, Otto Julius Bernhard von., HELD, Friedrich Wilhelm Alexander - and CORVIN WIERSBITZKI (Otto Julius Bernhard von) · 1844 · 233 pictures

A German popular world history in illustrated volumes, written by Otto von Corvin-Wiersbitzki and Wilhelm Held and published from 1844 for a general readership. Wood-engraved scenes set antique episodes — pyres, envoys, throne rooms, cavalry melees — in dense crowds of armour, drapery and spears, offering figure groups, horses and classical props for collage or silhouette.
