Among the Heather. New edition
A New edition of A. C. Hertford's Scottish country tale, issued in 1891 by the Edinburgh and London firm Oliphant, Anderson & Co. for family and juvenile readers. The illustrations are narrow horizontal pen-and-ink strips used as chapter headpieces: skaters on a frozen pond, children among tall grass, figures on a dune shore, with open sky and loose hatching that suit banners and rules.
