Robin Hood; a collection of all the ancient poems, songs, and ballads now extant relative to that ... outlaw. To which are prefixed historical anecdotes of his life. [Edited by J. Ritson. With wood engravings by Thomas Bewick
Joseph Ritson's two-volume gathering of every Robin Hood ballad and poem then known, with historical notes, published in London in 1795 for antiquarians and ballad readers, and illustrated with wood engravings by John and Thomas Bewick. The cuts are small woodland vignettes in fine white-line hatching: archers, quarterstaff fights, foresters under ragged trees, with headpieces, tailpieces and decorative initials usable as spot ornaments.
