The Spirit of the Plays of Shakspeare exhibited in a Series of Outline Plates, illustrative of the story of each play ... With quotations and descriptions. L.P
A five-volume set of outline engravings by Frank Howard, published by T. Cadell in London in 1833, retelling the plot of each Shakespeare play scene by scene with quotations for readers and theatre-goers. The plates are pure contour line without shading: grouped figures in draped robes, gesturing arms, thrones, beds and battlefields, usable as clean silhouette-free linework for tracing or overprinting.
