The Spirit of the Plays of Shakspeare exhibited in a Series of Outline Plates, illustrative of the story of each play ... With quotations and descriptions. L.P
A five-volume set of outline engravings by Frank Howard, published by T. Cadell in London in 1833, retelling the plot of each Shakespeare play scene by scene with quotations and descriptions for readers and theatre-goers. The plates are pure contour line without shading: draped groups of figures arranged across shallow stages, framed by a thin rule, with interiors, thrones, staircases and beds sketched in the same even weight, useful for line-art tracing, silhouette extraction and figure-pose reference.
