HUGHSON, David - pseud. [i.e. David Pugh, LL.D.] · 1825 · James Robins & Co. · 50 pictures

A topographical history and description of London, Westminster, Southwark and the surrounding villages, issued in 1825 by James Robins & Co. under the pen name David Hughson (David Pugh) for readers and visitors of the expanding metropolis. The plates are small copperplate prospects in wide horizontal format: churches, villas and garden grounds set behind massed trees, with tiny walking figures, open foregrounds, banked cloud skies and engraved captions and credit lines beneath, useful as vignette landscapes, skyline silhouettes or period lettering samples.
