Geological Survey of Illinois. A. H. Worthen, Director
An official state survey report of 1866, directed by A. H. Worthen with contributions from Bannister, Cox and Engelmann, issued for geologists, mining interests and the Illinois legislature. The plates, drawn by Chas. E. Worthen and lithographed in Boston, array numbered fossil fish teeth and bony plates as small isolated forms on blank grounds, finely stippled and outlined — useful as shape libraries, spot motifs, and models of specimen layout.
