The Wonders of the World. In nature, art & mind. Edited by H. Ince ... & Robert Mudie, etc
A mid-Victorian compendium of natural, architectural and mechanical wonders, edited by Henry Ince and Robert Mudie and published by Thomas Holmes in London in 1855 for general readers pursuing self-instruction. The wood engravings are oval and soft-edged vignettes of pyramids, tunnel and mine works, crowded city streets and mountain passes, with tiny figures for scale and densely hatched skies useful as framed scenic spots or period travel motifs.
