A three-volume novel by Richard Jefferies, published in London by Richard Bentley & Son in 1884 for the circulating-library readership. The plates here are small wood-engraved tailpieces and chapter ornaments: a scrolled rose-and-poppy spray in a downward triangle, and a tied bunch of five-petalled flowers with lance-shaped leaves, printed in solid black line on cream paper.
