Collected papers of the engineer Fleeming Jenkin, edited after his death by Sidney Colvin and J. A. Ewing with a memoir by Robert Louis Stevenson, published in London by Longmans in 1887 for engineers and scientific readers. The plates are line-engraved graphs on fine ruled grids: force-on-crank-pin curves that loop and double back, with small italic labels, "cut off" notes, and long numeric captions set along the plate edge — usable as skeletal diagram texture, grid stock, and technical lettering.
