The Red Rag. A novel
A Victorian novel by Richard Mounteney Jephson, issued in London by Bentley & Son in 1881 for the circulating-library reading public. The nine images are pen-drawn tailpieces: downward-tapering triangular sprays of flowers, scrolling foliage with berries and rosettes, daisy clusters and peacock feathers bound with a curling ribbon, usable as chapter endings, spot ornaments or pale-ink motifs.
